from Lucy Nicklin

I’m writing this as I pass Leeds on the motorway, which seems fitting as it is where I first met Graham as Ellie and I started our journey through university. My memories of Uni wouldn’t be the same without Graham being there. He used to pull faces with my dad about leaving us in the hovels that we decided to rent for the year…Pearson Grove wasn’t too bad!

I have fond memories of him and Jane coming to visit and chatting all things music and food. I loved spending weekends at Hoo Lane in the summer and being introduced to Dover’s games. Graham was always the centre of these weekends and made myself and Claire feel like one of the extended family. I always felt like it was his mission to make sure we were well fed and constantly laughing. His warmth and love shone through at every opportunity. He was always so immensely proud of Ellie and the life she was forging in Leeds. His thirst for life and passion for music, art and food will always live on in Ellie and the 3 of us will make it our mission to be the life and soul of the party when we’re together. Just as Graham would have.
